Location
A city of creative and laid-back people in the happiest country in the world
Silicon Valley of the North
Oulu is known of its vibrant tech-scene and innovation ecosystem.
Local companies and research institutions have been major players behind technologies such as 5G, GSM, IRC, heart-rate monitoring, and wearable fitness devices.
Subarctic climate
March is the best time to visit Oulu during a winter - it's still cold but not extremely freezing and it's the most likely month to have a good amount of snow.
Just remember to dress multiple layers of clothing when you go outside and you'll be fine.
Less than 8 hours of flying from any European capital city.
The night train from Helsinki is also quite cozy and it has one of the best bars in Finland.
