"I've got this idea for an app!"
with Chris Price
A half-day workshop exploring how to specify, design, and cost a mobile app.
There are a variety of reasons why you might be thinking about developing a mobile app: to make your fortune through monetizing your great idea, to help people by making knowledge available, or to make your business more efficient and profitable.
This workshop will help you decide whether your app idea is feasible and how to go about making it happen.
During the workshop, we will explore how to decide whether an app will be successful, examine how to specify what an app will do and what it will cost, evaluate whether implementing an app idea makes sense, learn how to build prototypes of our app ideas in PowerPoint or Keynote, and look at how to monetize and market our app.
This workshop requires no programming experience, and interested attendees can benefit from attending without a computer. If you wish to follow along with building prototypes in PowerPoint or Keynote, you will need to bring a computer running one of those software packages.
The seminar will be led by Prof Chris Price from Aberystwyth University. Chris has built a wide variety of apps and shipped over 200,000 apps via the Apple and Google app stores. He also does app development training for industry, including some for Apple itself.
This workshop is free of charge and open for everybody. Registration information will be available soon.
